Shamim is an avid viewer of the Footsteps of Ibrahim series. Here is an account of his experience which he emailed recently along with a special message to the Islam Channel Team.
“It was 2007 when I became increasingly interested in doing the Hajj after watching the Islam Channel’s coverage of the Hajj. The coverage included series of unique documentary titled Footsteps of Ibraheem, the live Arafat, Muzdalifia and Mina coverage. The way Islam Channel covered the Hajj was phenomenal, the journey from London Heathrow to Jeddah to the Hajj rituals.
Each episode of the Footsteps of Ibraheem was very unique and educational along with being enjoyable to watch. The episodes covered different rituals of the Hajj along with the story behind each ritual and the historic sites in the scared land of Allah the Almighty. Since 2007, each year during the month of Hajj I would be excited to watch the coverage of the Hajj brought to us by the Islam Channel.
I always viewed Hajj as something which I will do sometime during the future; I did not imagine it will be something I would do at this moment of my life. But after watching the Islam Channel’s unique programmes on Hajj, I was so inspired after hearing the Haji’s on the live show, their advices and their experiences. As a viewer I felt their feelings and experience had reached me in way which had left me inspired. The Hajj programmes inspired not just me but the members of my family. My nieces and nephews who thoroughly enjoyed the coverage especially this year. They felt connected to Brother Raheem’s emotional journey along with the unprecedented level of coverage of the sacred lands. They have truly been inspired to make the Hajj in the future, Inshah Allah
It was unfortunate that I couldn’t go to make the Hajj on 2010 with my family members, but the following year, in 2011/1432, Allah accepted my call and kindly gave me the privilege of making the spiritual journey to his scared land. And for that I am always thankful to Allah the Almighty the most Gracious and most Merciful.
I wouldI also would like to thank the Islam Channel for their countless effort to bring such programmes to our television. These unique programmes had inspired many people to make this journey and with the intention to make the journey. Finally a thank you to the Dawah Project donors who makes those programmes possible. May Allah reward you all in abundance. I pray to Allah to accept the Hajj of all those who been and to accept the call of those who have the intention of making this spiritual journey, Ameen.”
