Viva Palestina! Convoy to Gaza

At a meeting hosted yesterday in the House of Commons by George Galloway Mp it was unanimously agreed that the convoy to Gaza should happen as quickly as possible.

The aim of the convoy is to transport essential items to the people of Gaza as well as raise awareness of the plight of those people through the countries that it will be travelling through.

More information will be sent as we receive it in the meantime ……

What you can do

The convoy will leave from parliament on the 14th February 2009, Valentines Day so we will be sending it to Gaza with Love.

The convoy will travel through France, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt to Palestine.

We are asking people to do all, some or one of the following:

  • Raise money to take a truck/vehicle over to Gaza.
  • Fundraise money that we can take to Gaza to help with the rebuilding of schools and especially the Islamic University which was destroyed
  • Collect medication that we can take to Gaza (must not be more than 6 months out of date from the 14th February 2009
  • Collect clothes for children and adults
  • Sponsor a truck or part of a truck to take over
  • Donate a skill. If you are an HGV driver, doctor, nurse or mechanic your skills will be very useful

We have very little time – please do all you can to help. Everything collected, every penny, every item will go directly to the people of Gaza.

As a Brooklyn native and New Jersey resident, Brother Dash has been involved in the creative arts for almost two decades, bringing his energetic style of poetry to different venues across the globe. Over a number of years he has focused on Islamic poetry, as one of several Muslim poets, showcasing the richness of Islam. His poetry has a wide appeal to both Muslim and non-Muslim audiences. He recently started a spoken word poetry record label that received mainstream distribution in North American music and bookstores. His performances are currently the talk of student lounges, Islamic conferences, universities, and television and radio stations around the world.

Further information about Brother Dash can be found at: www.muslimpoet.com.

There will also be Arabic poetry by Palestinian brothers and local talent, all of whom who will reflect their feelings and emotions in light of the recent events in Gaza. We will be supporting Zaytoun
