Karimah bint Dawoud

Is an Essex girl revert to Islam of 8 years maashallah. She was searching for the Truth through Christianity,
Rastafari, Pan Africanism and Allah the Creator lead her to Islam. She studied Fine Art at Central St Martins School of Art and has modelled in Paris, Zurich and London.

She has done backing vocals for Barry Manilow and was a makeup artist for Gucci. As a Muslim she is one of Peter Sanders featured artists in the Art of Integration exhibition and book, she was asked by Hamza Yusef to be one of his internationally featured Muslim women for the Saudi TV channel MBC series Riahla.

She is a mother and known community activist maashallah as well as lecturing at colleges and universities on Gender and Representations of Femininity. She is one of the directors of The Karamah Holistic Arts Organisation and was artist in residence at Leighton House Museum as part of the Festival of Muslim Cultures.
She chooses to wear niqab (the veil) as part of her Islamic practice as she does not like being sexual objectified is saving herself for her soul mate inshallah.

Her culinary skills have been honed by many years of travelling and meeting different people; dining at some of the best restaurants and eating with the Bedouins. Her love of food and the pleasure it brings is purely a blessings from Allah
