1. How do I join the Islam Channel Discussion Forum?

Joining is free, quick and easy, just click Register and fill in your correct
details including a valid email address.

2. How do I add a new forum or message on the Islam Channel Discussion Forum?
|
|
First a forum member must choose where they would like to place a new forum,
i.e. which category. There are many categories to choose from, which include:
General Topics, Comments and Complaints, Current Affairs and Family Forum. After
choosing the category, there are two ways of adding a forum on the discussion
forum.
a. Add forum Clicking on this button allows a forum
member to add a new forum
b. Add Forum via RTF Click on this
button and use Rich Text Format, which means you will be able to place things in
a different font, colour, and size. You will also be able to place the images
that are written in Arabic below the message screen, which include: Assalaamu
alaikum, wa alaikum assalaam and others.

3. How do I add a reply to a forum member's thread or message?
|
|
First a forum member must choose where they would like to place a reply, i.e.
which category. There are many categories to choose from, which include: General
Topics, Comments and Complaints, Current Affairs and Family Forum. After
determining where you would like to reply, click on one of the two buttons:
a. Add reply
Clicking on this button allows a forum member to add a new
forum
b. Add reply via RTF
click on this button and use Rich
Text Format to add your reply, which means you will be able to place things in a
different font, colour, and size. You will also be able to place the images that
are written in Arabic below the message screen, which include: Assalaamu
alaikum, wa alaikum assalaam and others.
c. Using Quote option
Quote means to add someone's reply into your reply, whatever you quote will be display with a different
background and border around the quoted text. It also contains the user name, whose reply you have quoted into
your reply.
To quote someone's reply into your reply, simply click the quote button ( ) under the desired reply and place your
reply under the [QUOTE]...quoted text....[/QUOTE] tags.
Please do not remove [QUOTE][/QUOTE] tags, and do not type your reply with in these tags.

4. I have made an error on my message and wish to edit it, is this possible?

The first step to edit a post is to click on the message you would like to edit.
There you will see two buttons:
a. Edit Editing a forum by
clicking on this button
b. Edit via RTF Use this button to
edit using rich text format, which means you will be able to edit using
different fonts, sizes and colours.

5. Why is there a green dot next to my name?
|
|
This green dot symbolises that you posted this message on the forum.
|
|
6. Why are some of the IC circles next to the categories dark grey and some light
grey?
|
|
The dark grey IC symbolises that 'new threads or messages' have been placed in
that category, since the last time you logged in. When you first register and
sign in to the Islam Channel Discussion Forum all of the IC circles should be
dark grey as you have not read any of the threads.

7. How do I enter the Sister's or Brother's section?
|
|
These two sections have been created to separate the sisters from the brothers.
After a new user posts 50 valid posts on the forum, they may edit their profile
and confirm if they are a brother or sister. All posts must be valid posts and
not considered spam. After verification is completed by the monitor, they may
enter this section insha Allah.

8. Where did my post go?
|
|
Sometimes, users post messages on the forum that do not abide by the terms and
conditions of the forum. Please read the terms page, which may explain why a
post was removed. However, sometimes a post is moved into a separate section. A
question on Islam should be in the Islam category and not Reviews and Media.
Infrequently, a forum member may disagree with the monitor's choice of removal
of thread if this is occurs please email
monitor@islamchannel.tv to enquire about a deletion.
