Video: Why is everyone hating on the Bisht?

3/14/2023 4:55 PM

The Qatar World Cup 2022 final was widely regarded as one of the best ever, but much of the media attention was focused on the bisht.

The traditional robe was presented to Argentina's star player, Lionel Messi, by the sheikh of Qatar during the trophy award ceremony.

But cue outrage from the English speaking media. According to them, the greatest moment in World Cup history was ‘ruined’ and Messi ‘hijacked.'

In this video, our very own Omar delves into the issue and gives his views on why he thinks the backlash smacked of racism.
