Watch our new current affairs show NewsTalk

11/11/2021 10:19 PM

Islam Channel is proud to present our new weekly current affairs show NewsTalk.

Hosted by former Head of Religion at the BBC and Channel 4 Aaqil Ahmed, we will discuss the big issues of the week with guests from the world of politics, journalism and civil society.

NewsTalk

NewsTalk will give our viewers a round-up of topical events, providing a unique Muslim perspective on mainstream issues but also on issues that get ignored by mainstream media.

"A show like Newstalk is much needed for Britain’s Muslim communities" said host said Aaqil Ahmed. "It will explore contemporary subjects through the lens of British Muslims and give them a voice and platform often marginalised and denied elsewhere.

"The millions of Muslims in the U.K. are growing in numbers and maturing in their outlook and this show is part of that process. It shows if public service broadcasters don’t meet the challenge, then Muslims will do it themselves."

The half-an-hour programme will be on Thursdays at 9pm.
